Conducted at the Passionist Spiritual Center Retreat Links: [ Outline | Fr Jack | Rev Ron | DaveK | JohnT | Fr Paul ] |
Theme: "Balance in Your Life"
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding:
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3: 5&6
Given the competing interests in our lives, how do we attain appropriate and proper balance between the several significant and necessarily meaningful responsibilities we have as Christians at home with our families, at work, and in our community?
Jesus promised his disciples guidance in the everyday matters of their lives. His guidance has three key aspects:
To put our relationship with Christ and his Kingdom first in our lives. Matt. 6:33.
To recognize we need God's guidance to actively practice our faith by following Jesus in our daily lives. Matt. 4:19.
To prayerfully rely in a practical manner on the presence and guidance of Christ's Holy Spirit to daily help us, teach us, and help us remember all the things God has blessed us with in the past and to be thankful and grateful on a daily basis for his presence in out lives. John 14:26.
